In the summer of 2018, Arcos Hydraulik and PMC Cylinders in Sävsjö, Hällaryd, and Nastola merged to form a new company named Arcos Hydraulik. The companies share many points in common, which promises an unbeatable combination. Among other things, our customers are highly qualified, quality conscious and place high demands on performance, function, quality, and price.
We design and manufacture hydraulic cylinders customised for your specific applications. Our cylinders are used in a wide range of applications including sluice gates, steel mills, paper mills, servo control systems, cranes and mines. We have sales of roughly SEK 300 million and 175 employees.

History
Arcos Hydraulik
Arcos was founded in 1947 in Buskåker in Borlänge, Sweden. The company initially manufactured gears for motorcycles. This business idea was successful until the company succumbed to competition from the Japanese market in the 1970s.
At that time, the company also manufactured industrial gears, and added air and oil cylinders to its production. Arcos saw the potential for development in the industry, and in the 1980s the company decided to focus entirely on hydraulics and moved to larger premises. Further expansion and generation changes have taken place over the years, and the company is now in its third generation of management.
In 2018 Arcos was acquired by Dacke Industri AB, resulting in a merger with PMC Cylinders in Sävsjö, Hällaryd and Nastola. The merged company was named Arcos Hydraulik.
PMC Cylinders Sävsjö, Hällaryd
PMC Cylinders has been manufacturing hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic products since the 1950s.
PMC Cylinders was formed in 2009 through a merger between Vaggeryds Hydraulik AB and CA-Verken AB. Prior to the merger, Vaggeryds Hydraulik AB had acquired Hällarydsverken AB, a manufacturer of large cylinders, and Östermo Mekaniska, a manufacturer of small cylinders in large series.
PMC Cylinders was acquired in 2016 by Dacke Industri AB, and in 2018 the companies in PMC Cylinders were separated. The Sävsjö and Hällaryd unit merged with PMC Cylinders in Nastola and Arcos Hydraulik in Borlänge. The merged company was named Arcos Hydraulik.
PMC Cylinders Nastola, Finland
In 1942, Jämsän Konepaja och Valimo Oy (JKV) was founded in Vyborg, Russia. A couple of years later the company moved to Lahti, Finland, and in 1950 started developing hydraulic and pneumatic solutions. The JKV brand was introduced in 1965 and the company started exporting hydraulics.
In 1982 the company changed its name to JKV-Hydrauliikka Oy, and soon after this JKV began focusing on industrial and marine hydraulics. In 1998, the company moved its production to its existing premises in Nastola, and the company was later renamed Polarteknik Oy.
In 2016 Polarteknik Oy was acquired by Dacke Industri AB and became PMC Cylinders Oy. In 2018, the company merged with PMC Cylinders in Sävsjö, Hällaryd and Arcos Hydraulik in Borlänge. The Finnish division was named Arcos Hydraulik Oy.
